The peer-reviewed journal Media and Communication invites abstracts for the thematic issue “Revisiting the Nexus of Science, Politics, Media, and Publics Amid Digital and Societal Transformations”.

The issue examines changing relationships among scientific organisations, political institutions, journalism, digital platforms and the public. Relevant research areas include science journalism; university communication and public relations; social-media engagement; AI-assisted production and consumption of scientific information; public trust; accountability; participation; and the societal role of scientific knowledge.

Academic editors include researchers from the University of Zurich, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and Stellenbosch University.

Full-paper submission window: 15–31 January 2027.
